POURING SHOTS
Placing your index finger on the air hole of the pourer, tilt the bottle over and count 1-2-3 4.
Using a jigger to practice pouring your shots is a good way to see how well you are counting. Always remember the time table below and you will do just fine:
2 count equals a 1/2 oz. shot*
4 count equals a I oz shot*
6 count equals a I V2 oz shot*
7 count equals a 13/4 oz shot*
8 count equals a 2 oz shot*
*Start counting after you start pouring.
A double only means 2x the amount of liquor in the drink, the rest of the ingredients will remain the same.
To pour a layered shooter use a spoon to keep liquor from mixing into other liquors. By turning the spoon upside down and placing it just to the top, of the liquor you are layering on top of, slowly pouring the right amount on the spoon you will see how to float the liquor. Only certain liquors will work so you will not be able to do this with substitute liquor.
For example: A B52
I oz of Kahlua
1/2 oz of Gran Marnia
1/2 oz of Irish Cream
Here you will pour Kahlua and then Gran Marnia over with a jigger and a spoon to float the Irish Cream on top. Now we are ready to start mixing drinks!
